Bringing Holiday Cheer to Local Seniors

Hosted by the Rocking Chair Fund, Inc. — the nonprofit arm of Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living

For many older adults in our community, the holidays can be a lonely time — especially for those without nearby family. Adopt a Senior is a heartfelt program created to remind them that they are loved, remembered, and part of a caring community.

Now in its second year, this initiative began right here at Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living, after an incredible outpouring of support during our first trial run. This year, we’re expanding beyond our walls to reach seniors across Bowdon, Carrollton, and the surrounding area — with your help.

This program is proudly hosted by the Rocking Chair Fund, Inc., the nonprofit arm of Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living. The Rocking Chair Fund’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for local seniors through community-driven acts of kindness, enrichment programs, and outreach initiatives that build meaningful connections between generations.

🎄 How It Works

1. Nominate a Senior:
   Know a senior who could use some extra joy this holiday season? Complete the nomination form below to add them to our list.

2. Adopt a Senior:
   Volunteers can sign up to “adopt” a senior and provide a thoughtful gift or care package. You’ll receive details about your match, including a short description of their interests and wish list items.

3. Drop Off Your Gift:
   All gifts should be delivered to Front Porch of Bowdon Senior Living (501 Mitchell Ave, Bowdon, GA 30108) by December 15th.

4. Staff and volunteer coordinators will organize delivery to ensure that every senior receives their gift safely and on time.

A small gesture can make a big difference. Whether it’s a cozy blanket, a favorite snack, or a handwritten card, each gift tells a senior that their community cares. Last year’s smiles, tears of gratitude, and heartfelt thank-you notes showed just how powerful this simple act of kindness can be.
